MK7 Golf gear lever trims acting as knives

There was an advert back in the 80s for the MK2 Golf that said 'if only everything in life was as reliable as a Volkswagen'

True back then possibly but quality seems to have.......erm......slipped a bit since then.

The MK7 Golf has some odd failures, this one oddest of the lot maybe.

The chrome / silver trim round the base of the gear levers splits and turns into a razor sharp blade.

There's loads of images of owners online with some pretty nasty cuts as a result.

Unfortunately you can only buy the trim as a complete gear lever, gaitor and trim panel
