Left hand drive / Right hand drive explained
There is often confusion about the meaning of 'left hand drive' or 'right hand drive'.
Put simply, the 'hand drive' side of the car is where the steering wheel is located if you are sat in the car, facing forwards.
So, in the UK we are classed as 'right hand drive' because the steering wheel is on the right.
In the USA, Canada, Europe (France, Germany, Portugal, Spain etc), these are 'left hand drive' because the steering wheel is on the left as you are sat in the car.
